About Me

I relish in the fusion of user interaction with the art of marketing and design. As an established creative leader, I’m focused on the research, strategy, feedback, data, UX, and instinct required to create experiences that get results.

My love for creating and being inspired by others’ reactions to my work started as a teen comic book creator and cartoonist with a bounty of creative energy and stories to share. In college, in addition to being the political cartoonist for the school newspaper, I cut my teeth as a web designer for my university’s graphics department, creating entire sites before most had ever “surfed the web.”

After starting my career in the marketing agency world, I shifted my attention to the corporate side in 2014 to have more skin in the game by helping my company grow and shape their digital experiences in the B2B and B2C space. Since then, I’ve been leading people managers, designers, copywriters, and developers to greatness, while contributing to the growth of the people, revenue, and business.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my better-half Gina, my two beautiful kids Piper and Benjamin, and my two dogs Copper and Augie. Born and raised in the Chicago area, I enjoy a good micro-brew, playing and watching sports, board games and cycling all over the city and beyond.

Larry FAQ

  • Not true or false

While Larry is not a ninja in the traditional sense, his leadership and operational prowess does mimic that of a ninja.

  • Always a creative lad, the digital space became his playground when he bought his first Apple IIc computer at the age of 16. Over the years he expressed his artistry through multiple mediums such as illustration, oil painting, and 3D sculpture (ask sometime to see him weld a mean bead), but the computer quickly became his favorite tool for creation and visual exploration.

  • Larry’s roots are in Chicago, where he’s spent the majority of his career working and playing in the city he calls home. Currently residing in the western suburbs (as is the law after marriage with two kids and dogs), where he engages in the art and mindful practice of Dad jokes.

  • Larry has held leadership positions at multiple digital agencies, including Critical Mass, where he led and shaped digital journeys for USAA, one of the most innovative and customer-centric brands in the world. Leading a team of visual designers responsible for creating multi-channel touchpoints, Larry also built and maintained strong relationships with key clients while enhancing the account organically by over-delivering and pushing the ask. Prior to that he spent four years at Razorfish, driving digital campaigns and achieving substantial growth and KPI's in the CPG space for Ritz and Kellogg’s, along with leading experience-driven design solutions for State Farm.

So yeah, he’s got agency experience.

  • Larry has collaborated on many types of marketing, UX, and brand initiatives for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to non-profits, start-ups, and boutique brands. He is driven by creative problem solving, and has a consistent track record of leading teams who've performed at inspired levels of output while creating experiences resulting in goal smashing KPIs. Although interestingly enough he has never worked on the Shell or a nut account.

  • Whether it's carrying 14 grocery bags in one arm up two flights of stairs (personal record), winning the Illinois Lottery on his very first try (Pick 3, winning number 213), or riding his road bike 37,572.1 miles across the midwest since 2001, when working with Larry, the winning is just the beginning.

  • If sprinkles are that certain je ne sais quoi from a person who brings their genuine self, goes beyond the ask, and makes their team around them better for their efforts & leadership, then yes. If you mean a colorful topping on a child’s birthday cupcake? Not so much.
